24 clearances have landed in Haringey's own postcodes — N8 at Hornsey and Crouch End, N17 in Tottenham, N15 at Seven Sisters and N10 in Muswell Hill.
Two halves with a hill between
The western side — Crouch End, Muswell Hill, Highgate's edge — is Edwardian and Victorian terrace on steep streets, much of it converted into flats. The hill is not decorative: a house on Muswell Hill can have a basement flat two floors below the pavement at the front and level with the garden at the back.
Tottenham and the eastern side are denser and flatter, with more estate housing and more conversions. Parking is controlled across most of the borough.
What the work is
End-of-tenancy and landlord work in volume, particularly on the eastern side, with sales and probate in the west. Many instructions come from agents with keys and nobody in attendance.
