Devon is a long county and it is worth being honest about what that means: a job at Barnstaple and a job at Torquay are not the same run, and neither is a day out to Kingsbridge. 33 clearances have landed in Devon postcodes — EX32 at Barnstaple most often, then PL5 in Plymouth, EX16 at Tiverton, TQ12 at Newton Abbot, EX10 at Sidmouth and TQ13 up on the moor.
North, south and the moor between
North Devon — Barnstaple, Bideford, Ilfracombe — is its own patch and always has been. It is a long way from anywhere else in the county and the runs work better joined with Cornwall than with Exeter.
The south coast strip, Torquay through Paignton and Brixham to Dawlish and Teignmouth, is holiday and retirement stock: flats above shops, converted terraces, and bungalows with lofts full of the things people brought when they retired here.
And Dartmoor sits in the middle. Okehampton and Tavistock look close to Exeter on a map and are not, especially in winter.

Loads go through permitted transfer stations — A39 Skip Hire at Dinscott, EX23 9HP, the Barnstaple site at EX31 1GB, and SWM at Gratton Way, EX31 3NL.
They do not go to household recycling centres. Those are for residents' own waste and turn trade loads away, which is the whole point of them. Our waste carrier registration is CBDU419679 and the paperwork comes back from every load.
