Most house clearance in Shrewsbury starts with a phone call from somebody who isn't in Shrewsbury. That's the shape of the work in this county. The house is here. She was there before the van was. And the night before, this: "I have sent a list via WhatsApp as promised too" — a list of what was going and what wasn't, sent through at her own suggestion, which is far and away the most useful thing a client can do for a clearance crew.
Before that came the usual set of questions we send out, the ones in blue that people either answer in two minutes or put off for a week. Full address of the property. Castlefields is a good example of why the answers matter more than photographs do. The one that didn't go to plan
Honesty is worth more than a polished page, so here's a job that went sideways. A property in SY3, out on the Church Stretton side of town, came to us as an insect clearance. flies and maggots through the place — and our quote said we would remove all flies, insects and maggots within the property, but warned that eggs already laid could hatch for a week or two afterwards and would die off once the house had been cleaned and there was no food source left. The contents went. The fleas kept coming. Some weeks later the owner wrote. "Following the clearance of the house we are now in the process of refurbishing which is nearing completion and I regret that you did not rid the place of fleas, rather than disappearing they are proliferating."

A keep list settled before the morning is what makes a long day workable, and it doesn't have to be formal — a WhatsApp message the night before does the job.
