Three clearances have landed in Highland postcodes — KW14 at Thurso, PH33 at Fort William and IV2 in Inverness.
That is a small number and it should be. The Highland council area is the size of Wales with the population of a large town, and we are honest about what that means: a clearance here is a planned expedition, not a call-out. Thurso is nine hours from our nearest base. We will come, we will give you a date in advance, and the price reflects the journey rather than hiding it.
What the property is like
Crofts and cottages with byres and outbuildings that have been filling for generations. Stone walls, low doorways, and lanes where a 3.5-tonne Luton is the largest thing that has been down them in years.
Inverness itself is ordinary town work. Everything beyond it is distance.
Winter matters here in a way it does not further south. A date in January is a date subject to the road being open, and we would rather say that at the outset.
Confirmation, not probate
Scottish estates go through confirmation. The paperwork has a different name and a different shape; the way we invoice does not change — the executor, the solicitor or the estate, and payment can come from the estate once it settles.
