What the county is like to work in
Norfolk is big, flat and thinly populated, with one city and a great many villages down single-track lanes. Distance is the honest constraint: a job at King's Lynn and a job at Great Yarmouth are opposite ends of the county and not the same day.
The coast — Yarmouth, Cromer, Hunstanton — is holiday and retirement stock: bungalows, converted guesthouses, flats above shops, and long occupancies with full lofts.
The Broads villages and the market towns inland are older, with outbuildings.
Norwich is the only dense part, with terraces and conversions and controlled parking near the centre.
