The Peak changes everything
North of Matlock the county is the Peak District, and the practical facts are hills, narrow lanes and stone cottages with doorways that a modern three-seater was never carried through. Buxton and Glossop are a proper drive from anywhere and get planned as trips, particularly in winter.
