Three storeys and a shed is a proper day's work, and the shed was the part that decided the order of it. That workbench was the reason the shed didn't get stripped bare — big benches are usually bolted or built in place, and this one was staying, so the team worked round it. Curtains, on the other hand, were coming down, all but one room: "Yes, other than living room."
Water and power were on, which matters more than people expect. It means the team can rinse hands, boil a kettle, run a light into a dark corner of a shed rather than working off a phone torch.
Nothing hazardous was declared — no to all of it on the booking form — and no clean was wanted afterwards, that was being handled separately. No garden to deal with either. Parking is the honest headache on a street like that: cars both sides, so the van goes in with mirrors folded and somebody stands at the back while it reverses. The neighbours had been asked in advance. They usually oblige, in our experience, if somebody's had the manners to ask.
The team leader takes photos on a walk round before and after, for proof the work's done — handy when the person instructing us is a long way off, which up here they often are.
We don't mind the drive up

Holiday lets and second homes
A good slice of property round Windermere and Bowness isn't anyone's main home.
